Usines de décolletage fondées par Alfred Charpilloz (1856-1924) en 1882 à Bévilard quand il y installe un atelier de pivotage. La crise horlogère de 1975 pousse l'entreprise à se diversifier principalement vers l'industrie automobile, mais aussi électronique, médicale et hydraulique (notamment au travers de l'entreprise ACIC SA).
